Exploring the Preserve

Kessler Swamp Nature Preserve welcomes visitors from sunrise to sunset, offering a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While there are no designated trails, a very short path leads to a small observation platform overlooking the swamp.

 

From the platform you can observe the abundant wildlife that calls the preserve home. There are no seats on the platform. So, if you want to stay for a while, and relax, make sure you bring a chair.

Kessler Swamp is a nice stop on your road trip. Most people only spend 10-15 minutes observing the swamp and wildlife.

The preserve is open from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset.

Pets are not permitted to ensure the safety of wildlife and preserve the natural tranquility of the area.
